Performance Audit and Inspectorate
Functions:
- Inspecting service delivery in Ministries, Departments & Agencies (MDAs) and the Public Service Commission (PSC) to promote efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conducting compliance audits in MDAs and the PSC in line with existing policies, statutes as well as Commission circulars and directives to enhance good governance.
- Carrying out systems audits on operations in MDAs and the Public Service Commission.
- Inspecting and assessing the culture of client readiness, responsiveness, and accountability throughout the Public Service.
- Validating government programs and projects to establish levels of economy, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Auditing the management as well as utilization of government assets to promote transparency and accountability.
- Investigating complaints raised by the citizenry and stakeholders against members in MDAs and the PSC.
- Investigating cases of unethical conduct in MDAs and the PSC.
- Conducting validations on performance results in MDAs and the PSC in conjunction with the Performance Management Unit.
- Advising on performance and policy gaps, and proposing recommendations for redress where appropriate.
